Jess Davidson awarded an MBE in New Year Honours List
Jess Davidson, a nursing lecturer at QMU, has been awarded an MBE for services to forensic nursing and victim support in Scotland.
Jess, who established ²Ï²Ñ±«â€™sÌýPgCertÌýAdvanced Forensic Nursing (Person-CentredÌýPractice), has worked tirelesslyÌýwith Police Scotland, theÌýNHS and The Scottish Government to improve healthcare services forÌýpeople suffering from sexual assault/abuse and for patients in police custody.Ìý
As a trailblazer and one of the most experienced and respectedÌýsenior clinical forensic charge nursesÌýin Scotland,ÌýJessÌýworked alongside Police Scotland and NHS Scotland to coordinate a regional nurse-led service whichÌýgreatly improvedÌýintervention and support for people whoÌýrequiredÌýmedical and/or forensic attention.ÌýShe continues toÌýwork with ÄÛÒ¶²Ý and across agenciesÌýto create aÌýgroup ofÌýhighly skilledÌýforensicÌýnurse practitioners whoÌýare working to improveÌýperson-centredÌýcare for people who have experienced sexual assault and trauma, and those who are in police custody who are marginalised and disenfranchised with unmet healthcare needs.Ìý
